Des habitants de la commune de Bobigny ont demandé à Serge Comte de concevoir une œuvre pour La Fête de la Bergère, fête qui s’est déroulée le 4 juin 2000 à Bobigny. Ils souhaitaient une forme qui puisse à la fois annoncer puis évoquer le souvenir de la fête, rendant ainsi le temps de son déroulement plus élastique et moins abrupt.
La vidéo présente la réponse de Serge Comte qui proposa 300 carillons fait de bois et de métal et dont le contrepoids d’un tiers d’entre eux fut remplacé par un filet de nourriture pour oiseaux. Accrochés dans les arbres du parc, leur tintement produisait un son clair et léger qui variait selon les vents, la pluie, la présence des oiseaux, les vibrations du sol, les interactions avec les gens… Laissés au tout venant, les multiples ont, par la suite, naturellement disparu…

Several residents from the city of Bobigny asked Serge Comte to organize a work dedicated to the Bergère fair, which occured in the 4th of june, 2000, in Bobigny. They wished to have something that could announce and evoke the souvenir of the fair, by changing the progression of the fair.
Serge Comte proposes 300 carillons made in wood and metal. Part of them have been replaced by a thin line of meal for birds. Hung in the trees of the park, their rings produce a clear and light sound that changes with the wind, the rain, the presence of birds, the vibration of the floor, the interaction with people… Left to all comings, the carillons disappear after all, just as they came…
This commission has been realised in parternship with Banlieues Bleues (Blue Suburbs).
